Marise was admitted as a solicitor in 1990 and has since that time handled a general insurance litigation caseload. She has a particular expertise in the construction and electrical industries, advises on policy coverage issues and defending employers' and public liability claims. She also deals with tree root, subsidence and property damage claims. In addition pursues recovery actions and frequently acts for insurers exercising their rights of subrogation.

Marise joined Greenwoods in 2007 as an associate partner. She is a member of the Law Society Civil Litigation Committee, which advises the Law Society on policy and procedure and monitors the Civil Procedure Rules, The Human Rights Act, European Legislation and Solicitors' costs. She is a Law Society representative on the Civil Justice Council Working Party on Pre-Action Protocols and Marise has been appointed to the Law Society/Bar Council Joint Tribunal dealing with disputes in relation to Barristers' fees.

Sharp v Elnaugh & Sons (2006) - no breach of duty in employers' liability claim
Scott v Process Mechanical (2006) - breach of duty by employer not causative of injury.

Her hobbies include travelling and cooking (not usually at the same time!)
