Coroner’s Inquests
Coroner’s Inquests have always provided a useful opportunity to gather evidence relevant to civil liability issues as well as for defending RTA prosecutions. Just as importantly, our presence is vital to prevent others from pursuing lines of questioning that may prejudice our clients’ cases.
At Greenwoods, we believe it is essential for a driver involved in a serious RTA to be properly represented at the Coroner’s Inquest. As well as providing attendance and representation at the Coroner’s Court, we will ensure our client is thoroughly briefed and fully prepared for the experience.
The recent reform of the Coroner’s system encourages bereaved families to become more involved in the inquest. There now exists a right to appeal against verdicts and there is every reason to believe that Coroner’s Courts will become increasingly hostile public arenas.
