Industrial disease is an increasingly broad area which now covers many conditions besides those traditionally associated with heavy industry and agriculture. This includes asbestos-related disease (including mesothelioma, asbestosis and pleural plaques), emphysema, exposure to pesticides, occupational asthma, deafness and occupationally-induced cancers.
The Industrial Disease team at Greenwoods has a deep understanding of these long-established disease categories, as well as of the newer classes of complaint that have arisen in the evolving workplace, such as stress, bullying and discrimination, tuberculosis, trauma and work-related upper limb disorders and chronic back pain.
While we fully recognise the responsibilities of the employer for the safety and well-being of their staff, we also understand the employee’s responsibilities in this area.
