Sarah was admitted as a solicitor in 1991 and has always worked for the insurance sector, specialising in the recovery and defence of property damage claims, in addition to advising on policy coverage issues. She has been instructed in a number of railway derailments (including Southall and Ladbroke Grove).

More generally, she conducts the pursuit and defence of construction related disputes on behalf of insurers in the TCC and has extensive experience of all fire, flood and other engineering issues that arise in relation to these. She has a particular expertise in duct fires following her involvement in the Heathrow Fire, 1997, which she has continued to develop since then.

Other areas of specialisation include costs, CFAs, insurer applications under section 51 of the Supreme Court Act 1981 and subrogated property claims. She has deployed the above skills to establish a subrogated recovery Scheme for insurers on a “no win, no fee basis” which product offers insurers the opportunity to optimise their return on subrogated recoveries from £5,000 upwards at no cost to them.
